This makes God’s opinion a Divine Opinion, one that is infused with wisdom, truth and perfect perspective.
Prayer is the avenue leading to God’s perspective. Through prayer, we can summon our Heavenly Father’s opinion and faithfully demonstrate our ability to believe in His plans. God uses prayer to communicate with us and to answer the deeper questions we have about life. Those who spend time in prayer always develop a richer understanding of God and His Kingdom.
There are seasons in our lives when we are in a place of sincere doubt. All out, full blown questioning and genuine uncertainty with no clear direction ahead of us. These seasons can come about for any manner of reasons. Often, they don’t make sense to us and we stumble in the dark, trying to answer the questions which plague us. However, take heart!
God knows all the answers we are seeking, and He has a unique perspective: total unadulterated truth.
“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6)
This makes God’s opinion a Divine Opinion, one that is infused with wisdom, truth and perfect perspective. He knows the circumstances and events that led up to your confusion.
He knows the actors, the villains and the saints participating in the event or circumstance.
God possesses an infinite knowledge about the opportunities, obstacles and unseen details surrounding your situation. God carries a unique perspective about the situations we face because He has information outside of the boundaries of time and space.
Should we want wisdom, He is the source of all wisdom. The King James Bible tells us, “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6). We simply need to approach God with humility and a faithful heart, and He will always be present to listen and to provide direction.
To God, sometimes an Ending is really a Blessed Beginning.
Perhaps you knew of someone who was fired from their employment. You knew only about the direct outcome – the terminated employment. Sometimes, from the outside it looks as if something awful is happening to that person. We think about the livelihood of that person being threatened. We judge those in authority as unkind. We consider the outcome to be far too harsh and yet, we know nothing of the specific details regarding the whole circumstance, nor do we know the ultimate purpose that God has for someone’s life. With our human eyes, our perspective is slanted to see only victimization.
Difficult Situations
It’s easy to judge a situation from the outside and as human beings, we often do this. However, God knew the heart of the supervisor, the employee, the co-workers involved, the supernatural influences that were at work, and the totality of the events surrounding the outcome. He knew, in advance, the date and hour the dismissal would occur and who would make the final decisions about the termination. He even knew in advance how He would bless the individual who lost their job and where He would ultimately lead them next.
To God, sometimes an Ending is really a Blessed Beginning. Could you imagine having His level of perspective on anything in your life?
How can we gain that godly perspective and tap into His Divine Opinion?
First, let us all acknowledge that any time spent with God is time well spent. Being able to address the Sovereign God of the universe is a blessing that enriches us and brings complete satisfaction and joy into our lives. God looks forward to a time of sharing and communication with His children. When we pray, we open the door toward heaven, giving God the opportunity to have an impact on our lives. God knows us intimately; therefore, we have a father who will not only console us but counsel us. We have a heavenly father who is willing to provide us with His Divine Opinion.
The Importance of Prayer
There are many, many scriptures that allude to the importance of prayer. Even Jesus, whose beautiful spirit was perfect, spent time praying to His Father for direction. If God on earth spent time in this activity, should we not also?
Any time spent with God is time well spent.
In 1 John 5:14, we are told “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” Again, we are told to go to God in 2 Chronicles 16:11, “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” We are continually encouraged to seek God’s opinion for our lives. Certainly, if it were not important to God, He would not have suggested it to us over and over in His Word.
Every day, at the beginning of your day, spend time in prayer with God. When you do this, you are heaping blessings upon yourself because as you pray, He will share His Opinion with you about your life based upon His Plans. Those perfect plans were drafted long ago, in His Heart, before you were even born.
