The Meaningful Chocolate Company in England has launched a calendar design making contest. Open to children, the competition aims to bring back the true meaning of Christmas to the public, Premier reports.

The Cheshire-based company is accepting entries for designs to be used in front of an advent calendar. Children should base their designs from the story of the birth of Jesus in the Bible.

This is not the first time the chocolate company hoped to educate the real story about a Christian holiday. In 2010, it created the “Real Easter Egg” to teach the young ones the message behind Easter, reports The Telegraph.

David Marshall, director of the Meaningful Chocolate Company, said, “What we want to do is put the nativity characters on the front of an advent calendar…something you don’t find in the 99p Barbie advent calendar.”

Marshall hopes that the contest will be a means of evangelization that is fun and enjoyable to the children. He said many children learn about the story of Christmas for the first time through advent calendars. “So these advent calendars they sound quite superficial, but actually they’re a great teaching tool.”

This is not the first time the chocolate company hoped to educate the real story about a Christian holiday. In 2010, it created the “Real Easter Egg” to teach the young ones the message behind Easter, reports The Telegraph.

With 80 million Easter eggs sold in the UK every year, most of the eggs do not mention the word “Easter” in their packaging.

The Real Easter Egg includes a 24-page Easter story booklet or activity book in every box. The word “Easter” is prominently displayed on the box’ logo. This year, the Easter egg came with a booklet filled with drawings of Easter traditions.

“The Real Easter Egg is the only egg that talks about faith in this way and in most supermarkets it will be the only charity Easter egg and the only egg of its type in the UK,” explained Marshall.
